1 巧用修辭

　　a.頭韻(alliteration)

　　頭韻是指兩個單詞或兩個單詞以上的首字母相同，形成悅耳的讀音。那么最常見的押頭韻的短語有：

　　first and foremost(首先)

　　(with)might and main (盡全力地)(in)

　　weal and (or) woe(無論是福是禍)

　　fame and fortune名利

　　make or mar 成就或毀壞

　　在托福寫作中若想表達“追名逐利”，可以直接表達為“pursue reputation and wealth”,但是更好的表達，可以用 “seek fame and fortune”。若想表達“分析并解決問題”，與其用“analyze and solve problems”就不如用 “analyze and attack problems”。“歷經艱難”可以表達為“undergo hardships”，也可用 “through thick and thin”。以上這些例子，前后兩種表達方式都正確，清晰，但相比之下，后者更精彩。
